Garment Types

Outerwear commonly refers to only duty jackets, but you may need a lot more than that: raincoats, sweaters, even rain pants. Our fabrics are used in a variety of garments to provide you with durable waterproof, breathable comfort in all conditions.

Duty Jackets

Two Officers In Jackets

While on patrol, you need a lightweight and flexible duty jacket that keeps you comfortable inside your car for the entire shift while protecting you from the weather outside. Additionally, as you respond to emergencies, you need durable protection against potentially dangerous contaminants such as chemicals or human body fluids. With a wide variety of styles from many different manufacturers, duty jackets made with GORE-TEX, GORE® WINDSTOPPER®, and GORE® CROSSTECH® fabrics keep you comfortable, dry, and protected in all kinds of conditions.

Rainwear

Rainwear

Rainwear needs to protect you from water and wind while allowing your body to perspire and heat to escape naturally. Rain pants also help you stay warm and dry. Reversible rainwear made with lightweight GORE-TEX fabric offers both a dark color and a high-visibility fabric, so you can choose between discretion and high visibility. Additionally, it provides durable weather protection no matter what nature throws your way. Like GORE-TEX fabric,GORE® CROSSTECH® fabric improves comfort by keeping you dry, while also protecting you from blood, body fluids, and five common accident-scene chemicals.

Protective Suits

Three Officers in Protective Suits

For hazardous chemical and terrorist incidents, you need to be confident that the garments you wear will protect you from potential exposure. Certified to the NFPA 1994, Class 3 standard, extended response team (XRT) suits made with GORE® CHEMPAK® selectively permeable fabric allow you to remain engaged longer because of the fabric’s unique breathability. For missions that require ChemBio protection, XRT suits with these fabrics improve your ability to respond quickly and perform physically demanding activities longer. Sweaters

Sweaters made with a GORE® WINDSTOPPER® fabric liner ensure your comfort over a wide range of temperatures. The fabric reduces wind chill, and it is highly breathable, allowing you to remain comfortable when moving between indoors and outdoors.

Warning: No products, including garments, footwear, and gloves, protect completely, even when new; their protective performance will decline with wear, tear, abrasion, and other damage associated with use.
