Turnout Gear
The most important thing a firefighter looks for in turnout gear is protection. Our moisture barriers are specially engineered to offer high thermal protective performance in addition to superior liquid penetration resistance to blood, body fluids, common chemicals, and water. And, they offer superior thermal stability by maintaining their barrier performance and breathability after exposure to extreme heat. They also help manage heat stress better in the warmer and low-level radiant heat environments found at the vast majority of calls.
Select Your Fabric
With more than 30 years of research and expertise backing our moisture barriers, we have several barriers that are tailored to fit your specific needs.
Why Our Fabrics?
Without one of our moisture barriers in your turnout gear, you might lose protection and durability that is only available in our products.
Heat Stress Management
You absolutely need protection against extreme heat, but the vast majority of your calls don’t involve this kind of challenge. Yet, the NFPA 1971 Standard doesn’t currently address performance in different environments – particularly the warmer and low-level radiant environments which pose significant heat stress risk.
Standards — NFPA 1971 and 1851
These standards specify the minimum requirements that relate to construction and maintenance of your gear.
